Thank you for your interest in a cedar sandblasted sign by Dekoter Signworks. We are confident you will be completely satisfied with your choice.

To help answer some commonly asked questions we have prepared the following list of topics that will assist you in choosing a sandblasted sign:

Size

I complete signs of varying sizes to suit individual needs and budgets. You should consider where the sign will be displayed and its function. Will it be a directional sign or is it more decorative? Will it need to be viewed from a distance or at closer range? A cardboard cutout in place of the sign is a useful tool in deciding size!

Pricing

Western Red Cedar is $110.00 per sq ft. and California Redwood is $140.00 per sq ft. This pricing includes some relatively simple illustrations to accent the sign. Sandblasted Stone Signs are also available. Signs requiring custom artwork will need to be quoted on an individual basis but a surcharge of approximately $50.00 per sign is a guideline.

Shape

Shape is a completely versatile subject. To help…Determine the basic shape you are trying to achieve such as rectangles, squares and ovals…from there we can round corners or add stepped corners etc. The sky really is the limit! Dekoter Signworks offers Design Consultation for more complex signs. This service will give you one to one interaction with on-site visits, detailed coloured design proofs and an itemized written quote for a nominal fee. The fee is credited as partial payment once an order has been confirmed.

Colours

Dekoter Signworks uses Benjamin Moore “Impervo” line of paints. Their full line of colours are available to us with many in stock. You will need to decide on a painted background vs. a natural wood grain background. Border colours, letter colours and any trim or secondary colours will need to be decided.

Installation

Within the Muskoka area, we offer installation services which is also quoted on individual basis. Also available are decorative cedar posts with wrought iron brackets. When self- installing a sign you will need to be wary of your regions frost considerations. If a post is not installed below frost it will move in the spring.

Timing

Most sign projects are completed within 2-3 weeks of confirming an order. An order is considered confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit. This allows for proper curing of sealants and paints. We will notify you at the outset of anticipated turnaround times, rush orders are accepted but limited during higher seasonal volumes. Exceptions will need to be made on signs requiring detailed custom artwork.
