PRODUCT PROFILE
Like
most woods, Western Red Cedar will absorb or discharge moisture
to attain equilibrium with the surrounding environment. This is
commonly referred as expansion and shrinkage. Western Red Cedar,
however, has an extremely low shrinkage/expansion factor rating
and is considered superior to all other coniferous woods in its
resistance to checking, warping or twisting.
Historically,
native peoples of the Pacific coast prized cedar for its long
lasting qualities and beauty. It was this Western Red Cedar that
was used for the construction of their building needs, which included
the majestic totem poles that marked their territories and ancestry.
Evidence of Cedars durability is seen today in the many
artifacts still being uncovered in good condition after centuries
exposed to the elements.
Yesterdays
people did not have the advantage of todays preservatives,
properly sealed, finished and maintained this cedar will provide
decades of trouble free service and beauty.

and laminates until the desired sign size is determined. Our sealers

varying depths. It gets sanded then sealed with a marine grade
Epoxy Resin before the actual painting process begins. After again
getting lightly sanded. Two coats of Benjamin Moore Impervoexterior-
grade sign paint is applied with ample curing time between coats.
A final coat of an Ultra Violet ray protecting exterior grade
Varnish is then applied. Sign thickness when complete may vary,
but for most exterior applications finished sign thickness is
normally 1 7/8 after these top finish coats. The sign is
